Why scrap remains visible

Scrap is rarely neutral. A chain has carried force. A wheel has travelled. A sheet of metal has weathered heat, rain and work.

In the studio, those traces do not need to disappear. They can become part of the sculpture. The challenge is to find a new structure without erasing the history already present in the material.
